Fun in the Sun

Stellies in winter is such a refreshing experience.  There is nothing nicer than being outdoors and inviting the winter sun to soak into your skin.  The sun has euphoric influences on us. On a perfect wintery sunny day, take yourself and your family on an outing.  The winelands in Stellies is always a good destination.

Let’s go on an adventure to Tokara Vineyards, take the R310 on the new Helshoogte pass.  The new pass is not as scenic but it’s a far easier pass to travel along.  Tokara is nestled in the Stellenbosch mountain range.  Tokara embodies what a good lifestyle is all about, extraordinary wine, culinary cuisine, and appreciation for art.

Tokara specialises in the Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc blends.   Their well-defined blends have made them iconic. They have an established olive farm on their estate and have created a signature olive oil, which their patrons can taste or purchase in their shop.  Would you believe me if I told you that they have their own art gallery available for viewing?  Art lovers, this would be the perfect outing for you.  Fantastic views, top-notch wines, strolling through the gallery while taking in their masterpieces and the cherry on the top would have to be their restaurant.

Tokara’s restaurant is nuzzled in the Helshoogte pass.  The views of Stellenbosch and False Bay are panoramic and speechless in beauty.  The restaurant itself is bright, modern and blends into its environment.  Their dishes comprise of refined farm style cooking.

This estate is truly beautiful and its neighbouring wine estates should not be ignored.  If you have the time, I would highly recommend Delaire Graff Estate and Zorgvliet Wine Estate.  These wine estates   are in a league of their own.

No matter what you decide to do, Stellies is the place to be and with its cosmopolitan flare, it will not disappoint.
